Three Generations Dedicated to Better Sleep
Harry Kraft
Founder, 1913-1956
At 17, Harry Kraft immigrated alone from Lithuania and began building mattresses by hand in a Detroit woodshed with a used sewing machine. Known for climbing inside early burlap-filled designs to perfect them before stitching, his relentless attention to detail laid the foundation for Restokraft’s craftsmanship and accountability.
Eugene Kraft
Second Generation
With a Harvard Business education and a talent for sales and marketing, Eugene led Restokraft through a period of significant expansion, building strong retail partnerships and broadening the company’s market reach. While driving growth, he remained committed to the craftsmanship and integrity established by his father.
Larry Kraft
Third Generation, 2002-Present
Having worked nearly every role in the company, Larry leads with firsthand knowledge of the craft and a clear vision for growth. Under his leadership, Restokraft has expanded exponentially, increasing production capacity and strengthening brand, hospitality, and private-label partnerships — all while preserving the family’s commitment to quality since 1913.

At the heart of this tradition is Barbara, longtime Head Quality Inspector, who lives by a guiding principle:
